Best Western Hotels & Resorts is part of BWH Hotel Group, one of the top ten hotel groups in the world with a collection of 18 brands ranging from economy to luxury. In Asia, the company offers a full range of services, including technical support, franchising and hotel management to suit hotels in all locations, including primary cities, second and third tier hubs, airports and resorts.
The group’s professional expertise, efficiency and profitable business models have helped BWH Hotel Group become one of the fastest-growing hotel chains in Asia, with over 370,000 rooms in operation and a further 70,000 in the pipeline. From its regional corporate office in Bangkok, BWH Hotel Group has expanded across Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, Pakistan, Laos, Singapore and Myanmar. It is also aiming to expand into new areas such as Brunei.
This rapid expansion is being driven by the company’s Business Development team, which can identify the perfect brand for each market, form strong relationships with owners, investors and developers, evaluate projects and negotiate contracts, including franchise agreements, hotel management contracts and flexible “manchise” arrangements. Whether the project is a hotel, resort, condotel, serviced residence or mixed-use development, the team has the ability to deliver strong returns to its owners. Communication is key; BWH Hotel Group’s team is always happy to meet prospective hotel owners, agents and suppliers, and regularly attend hospitality events and investment conferences.
Having sourced leads, the Business Development team conducts a thorough economic review, feasibility studies and market research in order to propose the right brand for the project – whether it is a new-build, conversion or rebranding – and prepare a contract proposal. New fee structures have been introduced to adapt to the “new normal” market outlook and bring higher yields to owners. Flexible franchise and management fees can be arranged for projects with a short time to market, such as rebrandings. For new developments or conversions, Best Western’s Technical team will conduct a design review.
To ensure a smooth transition, BWH Hotel Group’s Business Development team retains a strong relationship with partners, even after licenses and agreements have been signed and handed over to the Operations team. With end-to-end service and a commitment to owner satisfaction, it is no surprise that BWH Hotel Group’s portfolio continues to grow rapidly in Asia, as happy partners return with new projects and recommend BWH Hotel Group to their associates.
